Lamb of God Lutheran Church

About Our Pastor

Sean Smallwood was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, in January 1969, to Len and Sue Smallwood. He was baptized in the Name of the Triune God in February of the same year.

He has studied in St. Cloud, Minnesota; Ingolstadt, Oberursel, and Frankfurt am Main, Germany; and St. Louis, Missouri. He earned his B.A. in German from St. Cloud State University, and his M.Div. from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He was ordained in June 1996.

He served as pastor to Concordia Lutheran in Sioux City, Iowa, until December 1998. Beginning in January 1999, he served St. Matthew Lutheran, a bilingual congregation (German and English) of the Lutheran Church-Canada in Calgary, Alberta.

He is married to Giselle. Together, they have three daughters.

He was installed as the fourth pastor at Lamb of God on April 27, 2008.

The Reverend Gregory Grenyo and The Reverend Timothy Schellenbach were installed as assistant pastors at Lamb of God on July 19, 2009. They will assist in mission development, evangelism efforts, and other areas of outreach.

Lamb of God's three previous pastors were outstanding men of God.

The Reverend Ronald Rock, the mission developer who began Lamb of God during his vicarage year, was Lamb of God's first shepherd. He served at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lamb of God's mother congregation, in the 1991-1992 year.

The Reverend Wayne Schwiesow was called to Good Shepherd in 1992, and assumed the duties of building Lamb of God. Under his direction, Lamb of God chartered as a congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod on Reformation Day 1993. Pr. Schwiesow accepted another call in October 1997.

The Reverend John M. Berg came to Lamb of God in June 1998, and served here until June 2007. Pastor Berg oversaw the mission church's purchase and renovation of its first building, and the launching of Christ Lutheran Academy, a Kindergarten - Eighth grade school operated jointly with Messiah Lutheran Church.

The members of Lamb of God are excited about the new adventure on which God is leading them with Pr. Smallwood, and give thanks to God for His guidance over the years, mindful of the abundant blessings with which He has showered us during the short life of this congregation.

Welcome!

The weeks and months following Trinity Sunday are what the church terms "Ordinary Times." In the historic one-year series of readings, these are known as the Sundays after Trinity, when we learn about the growth of the Christian church in the early days--and today.

The Divine Service is celebrated every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., and every Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

All are welcome at Lamb of God! Please, join us.
